These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) apply when you book or attend ukulele lessons provided by Uke Sprouts ("I", “we”, “us”, “our”). By booking a lesson, you agree to these Terms.
Business name: Uke Sprouts
Service area: Kidlington / Oxfordshire (in-person group or 1:1 lessons)
Contact: UkeSprouts@gmail.com
Website: www.UkeSprouts.com
We provide:
In-person group ukulele lessons (typically 60 minutes) in the Kidlington/Oxford area.
1:1 lessons for adults and children (available by enquiry; group classes for children may be introduced later).
We aim to deliver services with reasonable care and skill, in line with UK consumer law. Legislation.gov.uk
Booking is confirmed once you have paid (or when we confirm your place in writing, if you book via email or text message).
Prices are shown on our website or shared with you at the time of booking.
If you book a block (e.g., 6-week block), the block must be used within [8 weeks/months] unless we agree otherwise.
Group lessons require a minimum of 5 participants.
If minimum numbers are not reached, we may:
offer you a transfer to a later date, or
offer a refund, or
(optional) offer the session as a shorter/smaller group at a revised rate only if you agree in advance.
We’ll notify you as soon as reasonably possible.
Because lessons are typically booked for a specific date and time, statutory “cooling-off” cancellation rights may not apply in the same way they do for open-ended services.
Even so, we offer a clear cancellation policy:
Cancel 48+ hours before your lesson: you can choose a refund or transfer/credit.
Cancel within 48 hours: no refund (you may transfer your place to someone else with our approval).
No-shows: no refund.
If you are unwell, please let us know as soon as possible. At our discretion, we may offer a transfer/credit (especially for older adults or where illness is unexpected).
If we cancel a lesson (e.g., tutor illness, venue issue), you can choose:
a full refund, or
transfer/credit to another session.
We may occasionally need to change a lesson time, venue, or tutor due to circumstances beyond our control. If a significant change is made, you can choose a refund or transfer.
You take part at your own risk and are responsible for working within your comfort and physical limits.
If you have any medical condition, pain, or mobility/dexterity challenges that may affect participation, please tell us before the lesson so we can adapt the session.
We are not responsible for injuries resulting from ignoring guidance, unsafe personal equipment, or actions outside our reasonable control.
Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability where it would be unlawful to do so (including for death or personal injury caused by negligence).
For children’s 1:1 lessons:
A parent/guardian must provide emergency contact details, relevant medical information, and any support needs.
Unless agreed in writing, children must be dropped off and collected by a parent/guardian (no unsupervised waiting, unless it is outside the classroom space).
Behaviour must be safe and respectful. We may stop a lesson if a child's behaviour presents a safety risk.
We may take occasional photos or short videos for marketing (e.g., website/social media) only with consent. You can withdraw consent at any time by contacting us. (If you plan to film regularly, it’s best to also have a short Photo/Video Consent Policy linked from your website.)
To keep sessions welcoming and accessible:
Treat others with kindness and respect.
No harassment, discrimination, or intimidating behaviour.
We may refuse entry or ask someone to leave if behaviour is unsafe or disruptive. In such cases, refunds are at our discretion.
You are responsible for your own ukulele, tuner, and belongings.
We are not liable for loss, theft, or damage to personal items unless caused by our negligence.
All lesson materials we provide (handouts, exercises, recordings we create) remain our intellectual property unless stated otherwise. You may use them for personal learning, but not reproduce/sell/distribute them commercially without permission.
We will handle personal data in line with UK data protection law (UK GDPR / Data Protection Act 2018) and the principles of lawful, fair and transparent processing.
See our Privacy Policy here: Privacy Policy
If something isn’t right, please contact us first at [email] so we can try to resolve it quickly. You also have consumer rights where services are not provided with reasonable care and skill.
We are not responsible for delays/cancellations caused by events beyond our reasonable control (e.g., extreme weather, venue closure, transport disruption). We’ll always aim to offer transfers/credits or refunds where reasonable.
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales will have exclusive jurisdiction.
